Every June, more than 500 individuals attend the annual Fathers of the Year Awards Dinner and Gala to honor five outstanding Tucson fathers. Proceeds from this event have enabled the Steele Center to establish a Comprehensive Program in Juvenile Diabetes, offering the best clinical care available in Southern Arizona, as well as a state-of-the art research center to develop new treatments for juvenile diabetes. FDC is currently supporting start-up packages for a new team of molecular endocrinology investigators, including Kurt Griffin, MD, PhD. Thanks to FDC's critical funding, this strategic expansion of the Steele Center diabetes research team is moving forward.
