Every June, more than 500 individuals attend the annual Fathers of the Year Awards Dinner and Gala to honor five outstanding Tucson fathers. Proceeds from this event have enabled the Steele Center to establish a Comprehensive Program in Juvenile Diabetes, offering the best clinical care available in Southern Arizona, and state-of-the art research to develop new treatments for type 1 diabetes. The Father’s Day Council Tucson Endowed Chair in Type 1 Diabetes has also been established to ensure the continued impact of their efforts.
