The annual PANDA Fashion Show continues to raise funds for vital research and other needs at the Steele Center. Over the years, the PANDA's have enabled us to purchase state-of-the-art equipment, and support young investigators, known as PANDA Scholars. Recently, they have funded Steele Center investigators to explore the genetic causes of Crohn's disease, and pediatric congenital heart defects. This year, proceeds will go to fund the new "Women in Science," progam. While more and more women enter the medical field every year, currently only 25% of physicians are women and even fewer practice medical research. The Steele Center’s “Women in Science” program will support promising female physician-scientists as they build their clinical and research careers.
