sara courtney memorial walk/run

In August 2003, Tucson lost one of its loveliest natives. The beautiful Sara Courtney, 26, succumbed to her long battle with Juvenile (Type 1) Diabetes.

In her brief time with us, Sara was involved in a number of organizations helping this community. Now it is the community’s turn to honor Sara. In her memory, family, friends, and total strangers have banded together to create the Sara Courtney Memorial Walk/Run. Proceeds from this event help researchers find a cure for this cruel disease AND to educate people about it.

With the energy and support of the Father’s Day Council Tucson and a host of volunteers and sponsors, all of the money raised will go for diabetes research and education projects at the Steele Center.
