don and Joan Diamond

The Diamond family has been a major source of support for the Steele Children's Research Center since it's inception. During the construction of the Steele Center research tower, the Diamonds underwrote the Joan B. and Donald R. Diamond Laboratories for Lung Research. Joan has also given selflessly of her time as a member of the Advisory Board of the Steele Center.

In recognition of her many years of service, Joan was named a Life Member in 2000. In 2000, the Diamond Foundation makes a leadership gift of $310,000 for the Diamond Microarray Core Facility. This research approach will help researchers identify which genes work together in complex children's illnesses ranging from asthma to cancer to heart defects.
