To Teach To Heal To Discover

mel and enid zuckerman

Given Mel Zuckerman's personal commitment to healthy living, it may not be surprising to discover that his family's generosity has extended to the Steele Children's Research Center and taken many forms.

The Zuckermans underwrote a basic science research laboratory, which now carries their name, and they have supported two years of groundbreaking work in the field of pediatric cancer, which despite medical advances is still the number one cause of death from disease for children.

In terms of community outreach, Canyon Ranch was a major contributor to the Pediatric Integrative Medicine Conference sponsored by the Steele Center--the first of its kind in the country. And recently, the Zuckerman's recently provided one of the lead gifts to fund the Louise Thomas Endowed Chair in Pediatric Cancer Research.
